The Ashley Pack

I had the pleasure of dog sitting this past week for the Ashley Pack, 5 dogs and 7 feral cats that i'm in the process of trapping and rehoming, see my blog Almost Like You Foster Program. They are very good dogs, never a problem and love to sleep as much as I do which is great. We vegged out and watched TV, three of us on the couch and two on the floor. Let me introduce you to the pack:

TOBY - Lead Dog - Small but Ruthless - A Chihuahua/mix Rescue dog

  • Took three of us and an hour of time to finally get this little boy out of the road and into our car in the middle of Monroe. He was terrified but now he terrifies others. You can pet him when he allows you to an unless you want missing fingers do not wake him or move him when he is sleeping. He is to be first in all things which is why he is the lead dog of the pack.

JOE JOE - Swing Dog or Point Dog - Second in line - A Lab/mix Rescue Dog

  • Joe Joe was found in Santee Cooper, SC at the lake during a family vacation. He was covered in ticks and fleas when they found him. He was brought home, bathed and now lives a comfortable and loved life as the dog that keeps the others in check.

HANNAH - Team Dog 1 - A Red Heeler - Child Hand me Down

  • This pup is no rescue dog, purchased to be her male owners sidekick, only problem is she loved the owner's wife instead and wanted nothing to do with the man. Hannah's grandparents stepped in and adopted her, now she is a gramma's dog and loving every minute of it. Gramma is too except that if she stops Hannah will get wedged up her butt!! And as you can see in the picture Lead Dog Toby has put her in line, she knows who's boss.

ROWDY - Team Dog 2 - A Springer Spaniel Rescue

  • Rowdy was adopted from a shelter and lives up to his name for sure. No one comes and goes from the house without Rowdy letting a 10 block radius know about it. He greets you at the door with a big smile and hug, if you don't want it, to bad you get it anyways. Rowdy doesn't like to be outspoken or ignored, so he will bark to let you know that you are not paying him enough attention. One day Rowdy is going to be introduced to the Almost Like You Training Camp.

BIRDIE - Wheel Dog -  Last dog in the line - A Black/White Point - Child Hand Me Down

  • Birdie is another child hand me down, the grandparents adopted Birdie from their daughter. Birdie is a loving sweet girl and loves to give hugs. She is excited to see you but then she calms down. Birdie is my first love since they day I met her even after being gone for a while she remembered my voice when I came back and welcomed me with a huge long hug. Wonder if I can get a grandparent hand me down, maybe I can convince them that Birdie loves me more and should come home with me.

You have officially met the Ashley Pack, many thanks goes to this family who instead of purchasing dogs has adopted from shelters and other homes, the dogs have been spayed/neutered and are living a luxurious life on the farm. Thank you Lanny and Tammy for being such great foster parents.
